It seems these days that no matter how tried and used a story line is,someone will always endeavor to try it one more time.Of course to use the most used plot,you have to be either a little ingenious or use the second option i.e cast a famous singer,change few scenes,add some amorous appeal and voila you got yourself a movie.This recipe sometimes works but mostly it doesn't.
The reason of not working of these kind of movies is their predictability.I am tired of watching the movies with same plots,same scenes and even same cliche dialogues.But every now and then I find movies which have at least some ingenuity in them and those are worth all the trouble.
This movies follows the tried and tested story line yet it tries to be different in many ways but it succeeds in only few of them.The start of the movie is pretty good.It grabs your attention.But from there on it becomes predictable again.But then the scenes with amorous appeal come.We all know how Hollywood works.They do not have many ways to show and yet not show.But this movies succeeds in pulling the scenes off quite nicely and by nicely I mean a little bit of originality albeit explicit.
There onward,the movie again starts to follow the pet story line although you might see hints of creative spirit along the way till the very predictable union of the couple with a happy ending.
The name "Friends with benefits" , like "Prom", suggests what to expect from the movie and how it will end.The end I am talking about is people finding love and getting it,the whole nine yards of Hollywood love.These are the movies which let you believe in the concept of true love which ,sadly , nowhere to be found in the real world.
